((Just gonna leave this explanation here because it bothers me when things change out of nowhere with no explanation D:
Okay, so I’ve always been a bit bugged by my Eridan using fish puns, even his “cod” and “reely”. I’ve been doing it because when I first started RPing him, I uh, actually had some anons over on formspring harass me about it, but y’know, they weren’t correct and I should cut that shit out and go with what I know is correct. So, he’s done with fish puns entirely now, unless he so happens to encounter Feferi and he wants to mock her. Or reconcile with her, whatever the muse decides to do if that situation ever happens.
And since he /has/ been using them and it would be stupid for him to just suddenly stop for no reason, I’m gonna just say he was still a bit upset about losing Feferi as a moirail and use that as reasoning for his puns. He’s been using them subconsciously due to lingering feelings, but now he’s completely over her, and poof, the fish puns are gone!
The only thing that’s sticking around is “glub” and “glubbin”. And the occasional “wweh” in non-serious, silly situations.
HOWEVER: He will be making occasional boat-related puns, as he’s undergone character development and really fuckin lovves boats. Not canon by any stretch, but it’s something that’s developed, so I’m okay with it. Development with good reason is always welcome to me, but just changing shit for no reason bugs me.
Another thing is: I’ve always been a bit bugged by typing “and” as “an” in Eridan’s actual /dialogue/, even though he does it in canon. It’s just a matter of making things easier to read, kinda like how I have Eridan use capitalization and punctuation in dialogue, but not when he types. Gonna start using “an” when he /types/, but not when he talks. …I have no idea how to explain this change, but it’s happening anyways.
